I’ve been using ArtResin for quite a while now, but only to finish the Acrylic Pours that I’ve done. The Company does such a good job of supporting their product! Any questions I’ve had have been answered clearly and promptly, and they regularly post tips and ideas on their site, and on multiple Social Network sites.
Aside from using it to finish a painting, there are SO many other ways that you can use it, and Coasters seems like one of the easiest projects for experimenting, so here I go…..
I’ve read that you shouldn’t pour ArtResin really thick, so I’m going to pour these coasters in 3 thin layers.
I went through all the weird and wonderful stuff that I have in my studio to see what I could embed in the Coasters, and here’s what I’ve come up with, after the first layer:
Fishing Flies – this was a SLIGHT disaster, because you’ve got to use a torch to get rid of the bubbles in the resin, and I singed one of the Fly Wings; I’m hoping that won’t be evident in the final product.
Beautiful buttons – I have about 18 million of ’em
A plastic lizard, because why not?
Skulls – for some reason, I am soooooooo drawn towards skulls
Fancy Fibre
Stay tuned – I’ll pour two more layers, 3 hours apart, then leave them to set for 24 hours, then I’ll post again with the finished product.
so creative…waiting for part 2
Shall look forward,
