After doing the Hummingbird, which turned out sort of OK, but didn’t feel at all like me, I needed to do something different.

Here’s an impressionistic landscape, completely out of my head.  I haven’t done this in years and years, and it felt good.  I can see very easily what to do differently, to make it better.

For instance, make the sky more multi-hued, and slightly darker at the top.  Make the “field” slightly more green-blue, or Quin Gold.  Be more accurate with the scraping technique for the limbs.  But otherwise, for a first go in a long time, I really like this piece.  It’s 10″ x 8″.
