Series – 1 Page From Every Tutorial Book In My Library #29

(As usual, click any image to see it bigger, in a new tab)

I have 111 books in my studio (yes, I counted them) that are Tutorials,  and I acquired them slowly over about 10 years.  I find that I no longer go to them for inspiration, and decided to get rid of them.  Before I do that, however, I’m going to TRY to do ONE PAGE out of each book.  Wish me luck……

29 Books Down, 82 to go….

Practical Guide to Drawing by Vicenc Ballestar

The premise of this book is the simple yet true concept of “the more you draw, the better you get”.

I did a Draw/Paint-Along with Peter Sheeler, one of my favorite Ink and Watercolor Artists.

My sketch – I did it in pencil, then finalized it with indelible ink.  It took me at least an hour to draw this………

The colored version.

I’m pretty pleased.  This is very much outside my comfort zone because of the detail and the need for at least a small level of accurate perspective.
