1 Page From Every Tutorial Book In My Library #10

(As usual, click any image to see it bigger, in a new tab)

I have 111 books in my studio (yes, I counted them) that are Tutorials,  and I acquired them slowly over about 10 years.  I find that I no longer go to them for inspiration, and decided to get rid of them.  Before I do that, however, I’m going to TRY to do ONE PAGE out of each book.  Wish me luck……

12 Books Down, 99 to go….

Book:  Artist’s Projects You Can Paint – 10 Floral Watercolor by Kathy Dunham

Using watercolors to glaze on multiple layers.

I didn’t get this done very well, hers was quite bright, mine is very muddy.  But I’m pleased with how I did the details of painting around the little spikes that stick out of the Echinacea Head.

gahh, soooo dark!  I scribbled over the background with a white pencil, and added some white and dark to define the petals a bit more

Easy Landscapes by Jack Reid

Wet into Wet bleeding

Man, I am BAD at trees.  They seem like such a simple shape, kinda triangle-y, how hard can it be?  Trust me, they’re Hard!  Another mediocre page.  But I’m not discouraged, just being honest.
