Illustrating a Kid’s Book – End Page

So, that title doesn’t mean I’ve completed the book for P, it just means I actually completed the page that will be the last one in the book.

I’m pretty pumped that I’ve FINALLY done one page that I consider “complete”, other than putting her little face on it.

That face was a challenge.  She had a booboo of some sort on her lip, so I got rid of that.  Also the image had cropped off most of her skull area, so I had to add hair to round out her head.

The “text” page that follows it will be painted dark blue (sky), with stars and a moon, and the words will be hand printed.

I’ll be having her faces printed, in color, onto Lazertran Waterslide Decal Paper. You roughly cut out the printed image, soak it in water, and the image slides off.  All the non-printed area is clear, so I’ll be able to put it right onto the painted watercolor paper, and the background will show through, where appropriate.

I’ll do the Octopus Art Day page next…….wish me luck!
