Illustrating a Kid’s Book – Part 4

A few more rough sketches.  I actually think that I’ve bitten off more than I can chew……sigh……..

This is something about walking in the rain with a bear

And maybe making a cake.  I don’t think this one will make the cut.

This drawing started out as a rough scribble, out of my head, while I was killing time…

Then drawn a bit more precisely

Then color added.  I don’t like the colors, but still, that in itself is progress.  But what rhymes with Octopus??

Having a bath with some cats – that’s not going to end well.

What I’m realizing is how much detail is needed for the backgrounds.  gahhh…..

    I am going to LOVE this book .. and sooooo is your grand baby..
    You can always add ” Painting with the Octopus named Jess ..
    He gets his tentacles in paint – look out for the mess !! ”

    or ??? .. Enjoy !! Kids don’t need perfect and simple is the best!!
