Watercolor – Working With a Theme – Finished

Sorry for two posts in one day; I didn’t think I’d actually finish this piece today.

My original small journal piece had a heron.  I find the dangle-y legs of the heron off-putting, so I used a Raven Silhouette for this piece.

This is probably what I’d mat it down to.

I like this piece, but I find it a little heavy looking.  I prefer watercolors that are less opaque.  BUT, I really do like it, and more importantly, I enjoyed the process.  I’m going to try this same image again, on heavier W/C paper, and I’ll also give it a shot in acrylics.
