I’m really intrigued by these little paper beads. I made a few more and, this time, I used scrap computer paper. It has text all over one side, but only the white side shows. Instead of glue, I used Matte Medium, which I always have in my studio. It’s not only a good adhesive, it adds strength and body to the item.
For this batch, when I drew ruler lines for cutting the paper strips, I used a copper metallic marker (thank you, Lorna!!), and that line intentionally became part of the design.
For these ones, I added the Copper Marker AFTER they were made.
Here, I changed the shaped and added a thin strip of color from a magazine.
I tried a double strip, but don’t really like it, plus it was very awkward to roll up.
These beads are surprisingly sturdy and robust. I see now why people use paper for jewellery or decorative items.
