Arting With Jen – Last Day – 2016

As usual, I learned so much by creating art every day with Jen.  She’s incredibly talented, but even more important than that (I think) is that she motivates me.

The first day we had to draw something, I approached the exercise with trepidation.  By the 4th drawing, I was back into my groove, where it’s possible to simply look at ANYTHING as just a compilation of shapes.  I didn’t have to draw a building – I just had to connect a few straight’ish lines.  I didn’t have to draw a palm tree – it was just a few long ovoids and a couple verticals.

I know that it’s SO obvious that the more you do anything, the easier it gets, but I forget that sometimes, and rather than making time for art, I make excuses……

Anyway, here are our last couple pieces:

Mine – they are both works in progress, done in pencil and indelible ink.  They will eventually both be finished in watercolor

Jen’s – a combination of pencil, indelible ink, colored pencils and watercolor pencils

Can’t wait to do this again next year!

And I can’t wait until next year to join the two of you again in doing art 🙂

  2. The favorite one says:

I think the two of you compliment each other, and Paul why do you have to wait a year?
