So sad, we’re nearing the end of arting in paradise………..
Continuing on with my attempts at architecture, I tried a Market Scene, from a photo. In my Watercolor Journal, drew it in pencil, then re-drew it with indelible ink, and added some frisket to save the whites.
Added watercolor. I’m happy with the basic drawing, but the colors are too bland for my taste.
Remember Ninja Turtle? Acrylic used as a black outline on a 4″x4″ piece of watercolor paper? Well, I added watercolor to it, and it turned out better than I expected, given it’s small size.
And lastly, a pen drawing of a building, in my thin paper Pencil Sketch Journal, with watercolor pencils. Again, good practice at drawing. The watercolor pencils look pathetic, and the paper buckles like mad when even the tiniest bit of water is added. BUT I can’t get better if I don’t keep trying, right? Someone said “If you’re not making mistakes, you’re not trying hard enough”
Jen’s – she’s working on a 12″x10″ watercolor piece with very complex perspective lines.
Plus, she did this amazing ink drawing, from a photo, of our unit. Notice how she’s used different weights and amounts of cross hatching to show shadow. Gahhh, soooo good. That’s where I’m trying to get to………….
The 2 of you have done some great work (3 of you, almost forgot Paul) on this trip. Every year it gets better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow .,,you guys are getting better every year
your so right, you won’t get better if you don’t keep trying. Great job.
