Well, life is GOOD! Once again I’ll be spending some time with Jen, and we’ll be trying to do some kind of art every day.
Each time we do this, I struggle with what to bring, how much to bring, what travel’s well, etc. etc. etc. So, this time, I’ve photographed all my supplies, and at the end of the trip, I’ll know what I used, what was extraneous, and what I should include next time.
Here goes: First, tubes of watercolor paint
Journals, and watercolor paper
Palettes. Biggish ones for painting at home, and a small one for the beach.
Indelible ink pens, and Elegant Writers (Pens that bleed when re-wet)
An assortment of graphite pencils and watercolor pencils
Miscellaneous Pens, including a silver and a copper indelible ink, a white acrylic Paint Pen, and a white Oil Stick
This is a brilliant idea from Jen. Use a page from those old Picture Albums that have the sticky clear paper on them. We tape our w/c paper to it when we want a clean white edge on the finished piece
Brushes and thin and thick Masking Tape
Random stuff, including Masking Fluid, spray bottle, ear syringe (for dropping water into paint wells), little scissors, and black acrylic paint in “writing” bottles. I use a technique of outlining images with these bottles.
OK, there’s my stuff. Stayed tuned for posts about what we’ve created!
You sound like me .. when I am leaving for 4 months in Palm Desert … good thing all you need is a bathing suit and one dress .. or you would be in trouble ..
Very timely. I shall be away for a week with artistic friend.
Who would have ever thought you could be so organized !!!!!!!
