Clay – Heart Bowls and Vases…and a Fat Heart

Here’s what I’ve been working on this week.  Lorna’s signed us up for a Christmas Craft Fair at the end of November – http://www.cowex.ca/?craft-market,29.  We’re sharing a couple of tables, so I don’t need as much stock as if we BOTH had our own booth.  Lorna’s got so many crosses done, sheesh, I feel like a lazy no-good shirker compared to her!

Some vases and heart bowls drying out before being fired.

I am just loving these super-fat hearts.  They don’t really have any function, they’re not water-tight, but you can hang ’em on a nail, or put dried flowers in ’em, or use ’em as a pen holder.  They’re mostly just funky and fun.

When I make the little bowls, I like them to dry with a bit of a curve to them, not just flat.  Can you guess what this blue thing is that I’m using to “shape” the bowl?

Then I remembered I had all these empty containers from EA Ceramide Capsules (which makes my skin silky soft, at least that’s what the ad says, ha!….).

They’re perfect for the little bit of curve that I’m looking for.  Some of these little bowls have text in them, some don’t.

Here’s my latest style of base for the bowls.

Lorna, thanks for keeping me moving and motivated!

The “blue thing” – it’s the extra padding that came out of one of my sport’s bras.  For those of you that know me, I know it seems ironic that I own a sports bra…. but, hey, I have an electric bike now, too!  Maybe I’m turning into a jock!
