A better sketch….

I was having my usual morning coffee, scrolling through Pinterest (which I am seriously addicted to), and saw a sketch by this guy

http://iansidawaydrawing.blogspot.co.uk/

He uses extreme foreground focus in many of his drawings.

Such a simple change of perspective, and the image is soooo much more dramatic, and captures more closely what it was like to bike past these fields filled with masses of glorious color….

Here’s the first way I drew it

and now with the Poppies dramatically in the foreground.

I love this little drawing……….

I went to the guy’s website but just saw fine line drawings…..didn’t really see the dramatic foreground focus. I like your sketches better.

Yeah, when I link to someone else’s site, I go right to their home page, so that’s why you didn’t see the sketch that I saw. Sometimes people delete their pages/posts, etc, and then it would come up as “page not found”, and I think that I would look like a doofus. Anyway, thanks!! I just love drawing when we’re camping; I can’t believe how fast the time goes by when we’re out there painting……

I like the focus on the poppies. I guess that adding a small bike in the background to still get a sense that it was on a bike ride won’t work???

The background colours are awesome. You definitely drew my eyes to the poppies.
