So, I’ve been making pieces and holding off firing them till I had enough for a whole kiln load. Apparently, I grossly overestimated how much my kiln will hold, because I did TWO firings and I still have 5 pieces that didn’t fit! (Lauren, one of your fish is fired, the other will be fired within the next week). I’m not really sure how much I can pile things on top of each other when firing greenware, so maybe I could’ve jammed way more in there, who knows?
Loading the first batch
Everything came out successfully, yay!
What you don’t see on this table is a huge bowl (below) and one of Lauren’s huge fish.
I’d made this bowl about 4 years ago, but never got around to putting a clear glaze on the inside – I just LOVE it!!
The bowl looks great, are the pieces you fired ready to be painted now?
Some of them are. I have to do a second “glaze” firing to waterproof the vases. But the non-functional things are ready for painting now, with acrylic paints.
You are sooo talented 🙂
Very cool image on the bowl.
I can hardly wait to see some fruit in that bowl……..
hi … looks like you have been very successful with your firing. Keep up the great work .. xo
