Boy, I have had two really awesome and productive days in the studio. I love being in there, and having made a promise to be in a show in November helps keep me Motivated.
Here’s what I made in the last few days. They are all unfired greenware:
Paul asked me to make him a wall-hung planter for Cuban Oregano. I like the imagery, but I don’t actually like the size – it’s a little too clunky for my taste. But Paul does, and that’s what matters.
So then I took the same face mold and bent it around a tall’ish but skinny single vase – I like this!
I have a plastic place mat that I bought in a Dollar Store in New York, with the typical sky line and Statue of Liberty on it. It’s a REALLY fine imprint, but I’ve tried it on these next two vases. I won’t know if it worked until they’re fired and I add the color – fingers crossed!
This next one is meant to be wall hung with a wire holder; not crazy about it, but these are my first tries, and I’ll be modifying the shapes/sizes etc.
And lastly, another of the 3-tied-together vases; I’m really loving this look.
Once all this stuff has dried for a week or so, I actually have enough to do a firing – YAY!!!
Will be interesting to see the vases with the statue of liberty after they are finished
Yeah, I don’t hold out much hope that I’ll be able to show the details…… but you never know till you try, right?
Different styles for you, loving the variety of pieces your creating.
Thanks a bunch for doing my plant vase for the outside of the greenhouse. The head will be impressive. And I’m also interested to see how the Statue of Liberty will look when kilned and coloured.
Hey … These are awesome .. I would be proud to have any of them in my garden .. Keep on working .. you work gets better every piece!!
