Well, I’m calling this one Done! Remember, this was my FIRST attempt at a turtle, and I’m doing the second one just a bit differently, as far as process goes.
I find that the outlining is a bit too “busy”, with too much detail on the front and back fins, so I’ll be more subtle on the next piece.
Below is the second turtle. Instead of laying the color down within the individual platelets, I just laid it down on the whole turtle “shape”. I also did some scraping with a texture tool.
I let that layer dry, then added and painted over color.
I think the “Hot Pink” is going to be one of those Love-It-Or-Hate-It colors for most people.
It’s definitely easier to do this type of painting on a smooth non-textured canvas.
hey Ms Mckitty,
I disagree with you on the detail on Mr Turtle; I love the detail in the outline, I think it completed the picture beautifully. (Count me in on the “LOVE” hot pink!)
paint on my friend.
Miss Marc
Yeah, obviously I’m in the “Love Hot Pink” camp as well. Thanks for the positive comments – I really DO read each and every one of ’em!
