Well, I was camping again (yeah, we LOVE it!), and I managed to get some sketching/painting done. I added color to the bunny:
I also did a little landscape (the Moleskine pages are 5.5″ x 8″). I used an oil pastel to “save the whites”; I’d never used this before, and it’s fabulous for such little pieces.
I also did a sketch in my “people/faces only” moleskine. I copied the image out of one of my art tutorial books. She’s intentionally distorted and kinda freaky. I’m having trouble with her left hand.
I forgot I did this one; must’ve been a couple weeks ago:
And here’s one that I did while we were at Miracle Beach. I love how the sea-weedy-stuff turned out.
Love the bunny with colour!
Hey, thanks! It’s so surprising (to me, anyway) what a difference just teeny tiny bit of color and outlining makes.
I want to try the oil pastel to block white. I guess the disadvantage is that you can’t go back and paint over the area. But I like the smudgy effect of the white.
Yeah, I’m not sure what it would look like in a big area. You can’t remove it, like you can frisket. And since it’s oil, it’s really shiny. Quick, easy, and effective, tho!
I like the one from Miracle Beach. Don’t forget its my birthday soon.
Nice Rabbit. Are you aware of Inspire fest this 21 st in Shawnigan?
Hey Robert, thanks, and no, hadn’t heard about it yet, but will definitely attend if we’re in town. Thanks much for the heads up!
